How hard is this to make a basic site for my business? Nothing fancy more of just an add page with photos to start to get my name out there more.  What is involved

You need a web host and a domain name.

A couple possibilities that I've worked with before:

APlus - http://www.aplus.net/
$5.95/month for basic hosting, free domain name

InMotion hosting - http://www.inmotionhosting.com/

Then you need web design software, which you can get for free.

Trellian WebPage is simpler than Dreamweaver (one of the common commercial packages) and no cost.

No, not really. If you know what you're doing, you can put together a basic site in a couple hours. If you don't, it might take you a few days.

I use http://www.dreamhost.com/, and they have various software packages that you can install with a few clicks, so if you want a blog or a shop or whatever, you just select the appropriate package and don't have to worry too much about the technical details.
