I'm not talking about you, Jman, but some people cry about not having enough money to buy bare necessities, like insulin for a diabetic, for example, then spend their money unwisely when they get any.  I mean, it is their money and their life, but then why involve other people?  I knew someone who was like that, who always would ask my mother for insulin because they had run out and had no money to buy any, then they would spend a fortune redecorating a few weeks later.  I lose sympathy for people who continually do stuff like that.

Huh. I didn't know what this was about, but I got a letter about it too today. Haven't seen a check yet, but the concept actually made me feel patriotic, for all of about five minutes. Makes me want to do something with it that actually would stimulate the economy, like invest it in my freelance work.
