I talked to my brother about two hours ago. He woke up in the afternoon with an appetite (ONE very good sign), then went out again before he got any food. According to his wife, he has been asking for food all night long. He is aware of things and it seems that he is going to be fine.

Maybe all my worries were unfounded,  but the reality is that his surgery required for his heart to be stopped, cut upon, re-sown with mechanical implants in place then re-started.

My faith in modern medical techniques is not strong enough to alleviate the fears I felt due to this procedure.

Thank FUCK in a BUCKET, it is almost over. He seems to be himself.

I am glad to hear this! :viking:

Thanks.

iI's beeen a rough  couple of days, but things are better.

Now, I will disappear back into the raveled folds of what small, shimmering wet licks of life's trials that I can still taste. Sorry to have been such a drama queen though all this.

I was scared and afraid. I was beside myself.

The end result of life's daily pain and suffering, trials and failures, tears and laughter, readings and listenings is an accumulation of wisdom in its purest form.

Nothing drama queen about it. Best wishes to you, your brother and the whole family. May his recovery progress and may he soon be feeling better than ever. :)

drowsy, but not sleepy.  Still have one meeting  (tonight) and then I'm through for the day and can fall into bed.

I'm glad that he is finally doing better and woke up hungry even if he did fall back asleep. They use pretty heavy duty pain mediations like Fentanyl and Versed during and after open heart surgery so that might have been the cause of part of his extreme sleepiness.  It's scary when a loved one has surgery like this even in the best cases, though.
