Someone who accepts one of these reasons:
Quote
Why wear a shirt that says “I Was Raped”?

    * Because wearing it lets others know that they aren’t alone.
    * Because wearing it invites conversation about a silenced experience that so many women and men share.
    * Because rape is a crime that someone did to you, against your will.
    * Because, as Maya Angelou says, “I can be changed by what happens to me, but I refuse to be reduced by it.”
    * Because you shouldn’t be ashamed that you were raped; the perpetrator should be ashamed.
    * Because being public shatters the very silence that enables rape to be so common.
    * Because naming what has happened is the first step toward changing the reality of rape.
    * Because legal redress is rarely served, so it’s crucial to find our own justice and acknowledgment.

~ Jennifer Baumgardner, “I Was Raped” project, 2008

Of course they don't have to be ashamed, it's not their fault, but advertising it like that with just "I was raped" screams attention whore to me. It would have been better if it said "I was raped, but now I am stronger"

But, the point is that the tendency
is to be ashamed. For some, being so
direct and open about it is perhaps
empowering.

if someone feels it helps them wear the shirt, more power to them.

But if it had been worded they I think it should be worded then yes i can see how it can be emowering, but "I was raped" almost seems like sick morbid emo fashion statement.

But that's the point. It's bald and clear.
Not, I'm a rape survivor, or anything weaker.

Just, I was raped.

I don't know how I'd react to seeing it,
but I think I can kinda understand the
point.

I see why someone would wear it, I wouldn't, but tbh it's no worse than wearing an aspergers shirt, as it might help explain hostile behaviour without words.

There was a campaign like that in Poland.

With girls wearing t's with things like "I am a lesbian", "I was raped", "I had an abortion" etc.

It should say "I was raped now I carry a gun now back the fuck off before I shoot your nuts off" :P
