Yeah super nervous about the upgrade, it's been about 3 months since I had the money to buy the parts, but the possible situation in Taiwan prompted me to actually do something about it. Who knows how that's going to play out. We live in some strange times.
We don't live in a flat area, so flooding doesn't effect us, at most we get a lot of water down the road as the drains are slightly over capacity, but that clears up when the rain stops. A few of the inner city low streets in Melbourne will flood for less then 24 hours, and that's it. We have it pretty good here in those regards.
Family is going okay, most of the kids are now receiving NDIS. One get granted nearly $180,000, so that's crazy, our youngest is now 12 and she plays Aussie Rules Football and that has really helped her confidence, which is great, she is ASD/ADHD, so is our other daughter. She is also an amazing artist now. we got her a drawing tablet for her PC last Christmas and she has done amazing things with it. The younger three have finally moved to a better school is the Dandenongs, It's the type of school where they don't have to wear a school uniform and call the teachers by their first name. It's in the hills where a lot of arty alternative hippies live, so the school is somewhat chill. Our youngest has also discovered make up and clothes and is loving expressing herself which is great.
Our 3 eldest boys are now all adults. The eldest moved out under not the greatest circumstances, but I think he just got to that age where he couldn't live under someone else's rules but we discouraged him from moving out because of how expensive that kind of thing is. So things got heated near the start of the pandemic where we felt he wasn't taking it seriously, as I had a few preexisting conditions that would put me under increased risk. He is now living in medium short term housing and out relationship has improved.
The wife has been busy getting us all on the NDIS and I tell you, it's weird having things done for us. We have a guy come and mow our lawns (paid for by the NDIS), we can have our laundry picked up and washed and folded. We can have cleaners come over. The kids have various types of therapists come over. Hope it really helps the kids and my wife (who is very possibly also ADHD)
Yeah I have to tell you, you really know you are 50 when you get the home bowl cancer test in the mail.
How have things been around here? How has things been for you? Hope things are going in a generally positive direction for you. Have you applied for the NDIS?
