Thanks.  Yeah, I'm not on any drugs either.  There's no magic pill for CPTSD.  Just have to own it and deal.

What do you think of kangaroos? I seem to recall you had an interest in kangaroos?

Yeah, I used to like kangaroos, too.  I liked some really fucked-up animals.   I can't remember which comedian it was who talked about how Australian animals are proof that God did some heavy drugs.  I think it was George Carlin?

There was some cartoon when I was little that was so funny.  Some cat kept thinking a baby kangaroo was a mouse, and he kept trying to catch him.  The kangaroo would always kick his ass.

Thanks so much for that very favorable diagnosis.

The PTSD was caused both by a dangerous home life when I was growing up, and by some pretty severe bullying by boys at school.  I really can't explain it any further or better than that.  It's not a secret, just complicated to explain.  I've been receiving some serious counseling for it, and I'm getting a lot better.  My counselor says that my AS probably saved me.  Without my particular "wiring," I would probably not have made it out of my teens.

I agree, having AS is the reason I made it this far in my life.   :plus:

Actually, I read about a trial using propranolol for PTSD that had a single incident that triggered it, I think.

It made the person hyperfocus less on the traumatic incident that caused the PTSD.

This is not the article that I saw, but it has some more information about it:
