Don't know. I'm "officially" dx'd AS.

AS is an official dx in the DSM, but I think before the TR version, the AS criteria were a bit on the vague side so many got PDD-NOS.

Socialising drains me.

I went to a funeral last week of a family member, then the people came back to the house. I had to go to sleep in my room because I couldn't cope with the crowds and small talk.

My typical response to family gatherings is to go into a dark, empty room and lie down with a pillow over my head. I can usually only last a few minutes before I have to get out. I don't socialize at work gatherings and only do a small amount of talking with a few coworkers on a normal day. Other than that, the only human interaction I really have is with my kids. All that my wife ever does is bitch me out about not doing stuff her way, so I learned to tune her out.

Do I get a headache? Sometimes, but usually more from my light sensitivity than the actual act of socializing. I will get a headache when I have to endure complete and utter ignorance, which my mind has trouble processing.

PDD-NOS is one of the proper descriptions used for those who do not fit the Dr. Kanner mold for "typical" autism (the way it was explained to me) and Asperger's desciption is another.
People like me are too highly functional for them to reach a diagnosis of "typical" autism, yet the obvious can not be ignored for long. Both kids by my present wife, myself and the older son by another woman are all diagnosed with "atypical austism" (conversationally) or PDD-NOS (officially).

My psych did say something about "HFA" vs "Autistic Disorder" as diagnoses but I forget what it was that she said :/

In someways it would because I wouldn't be so aware of somethings like I am now.  Its kind of selfish to do so.

I am, and it hurts miserabably.  I even remember distressful dreams.  My mom is dying.

It becomes more apparent as disfunctional behavior is taken away, ouch !
