You have HFA, Flo.
Odeon I am curious why you think Flo has HFA, as I was aware HFA/AS are much the same thing. Although one could say somebody was say a higher functioning autistic, medium functioning or lower functioning autistic.
Several things, actually. First of all, he was diagnosed HFA by two (count 'em) professionals. Second, I've been observing him for two years and the evidence is pretty conclusive.
His IQ is most likely somewhere in the "normal" range--most of his problems here have to do with communication as such, not with a lack of intelligence--but he also doesn't have the slightest clue about social interaction. I've only observed him online, but if his sister is to be believed he displays fairly typical autistic behaviour IRL as well.
And btw, I know that there is no such thing as a "HFA diagnosis". The formal dx is likely "autistic disorder", with test results indicating an IQ in the normal range.
