calandale why are you being so mean to soph? :(

Fine. I'll answer that fairly. These are my real views about soph.
I've expressed them a number of times. I like her, but always feel
that she needs to see this. Most who've told her end up pissing her
off, and getting into recriminations - all of which turn ugly. I DON'T
want that to happen, but I always feel that someone needs to
grab her by the ears, shake her, and show her what she seems.

That, and (because Callaway is always right) I gain enough energy to
try these things, in my general lashing out at everything, when I am
disappointed in something. Perhaps this IS a matter of narcissistic
tearing others down - but that doesn't make it less true. It's certainly
what I see and believe.

But how is a person who is anally strict about keeping their word supposed to operate in a world where very little is actually cut and dried? Even the meanings of words are up for debate.

They're NOT. That's what this little experiment was about.

How do you figure? I don't remember you saying anywhere that the one thing sacred about Aspie CHAOS was that people had to honor the terms of registration.

Quote
I say some other criteria are needed to do reality-testing on one's results. It's too easy for strict systems to become influenced by factors they weren't accounting for. Are you familiar with the demise of Ayn Rand's little cult?

Oh crap. It was already done, in reality?
I like Ayn Rand's ideas, and I can even see a similarity
here.

 The woman died alone and miserable, and the guy who she'd named as her best disciple left her and founded his own branch of psychology based on the very idea that more reality testing was necessary. He's something like 90 by this point and appears to be happy and successful, if a little lost in his own "greatness" - his ideas started to repeat themselves after a while and he wasn't producing anything new, so I stopped following it. She kept her cult till her death, but it shrank hugely and puttered along, and is now run by an idiot parroting her without an original thought in his head.

Nah. She and I have been here before, many times.

no shit. i said that myself.
this isn't about being "pretty"
if you want to give me shit for how i am or how i deal with things, just fucking say it outright instead of piss arsing about with "pretty" comments. i think it's cowardly. if you have something to say, either say it, or shut the fuck up

People who joined there asked for this, IMO. It's good drama when observed from afar, though.

It's kinda fun, from this viewpoint too.  :zoinks:

bluntness is clearer to me
this might be playful to you, but it is serious to me
if you're going to tell me the shit things about me, at least make it clear

Indeed. Though I did ask that everyone not try and destroy the site.
Seems duplicitous, to join and intend to. Certainly, it's a clear way
to gain the enmity of anyone who did see value there, I'd think.

Jealous? You're kidding, right? You're now almost universally thought as someone who cannot be trusted, EVER. You've proven your qualities again and again.

Sooner or later, someone's going to decide that enough is enough and you will find yourself midair with that backpack, with your mates laughing their asses off high above you, in the plane.

I'd presume people aren't that dishonorable.
Kinda violates the whole idea of friendship.
Though, if you pick your friends poorly....

Anyhow, I'd suggest Hadron NEVER serve in the
military. Mates might not. People who HAVE to deal
with you would.

I think peegai's modus operandi is admirable in a world where people are not equal.

I don't. Kicking the weak has never impressed me.
More than that, he was in a world where people WERE
equal.

There is a world where people are equal?

I like Peegai because he has a talent for finding the cracks in people's false appearance of strength. He did it to me, despite being by all surface appearances a loser and a spaz, and so I respect him. Peegai doesn't kick people who are weak and accepting of it, he goes for people whose castles are built on sand.
You'll never self-actualize the subconscious canopy of stardust with that attitude.
