He died of kidney failure and apparently fell ill some time ago.

For some reason, Bobby Fischer popped up on the telly the other day. Could have been that the Chess World Championship match, held in NY until recently, led to it, but I only saw a few seconds before they started talking about something else. I ended up rereading some of the many books I have about him.
