That's why they call it Global Climate Change now, and not Global Warming... Global warming is a misnomer.

How so?
Some areas will get warmer while others will not especially if it affects are a change in global ocean currents
But isn't it a proven fact that the overall "average temperature" of the earth is over a full degree C above the overall average fifty years ago? The notion of such a rapid change, of any sort, in a supposedly stable system is the reason for the Chicken Little act in the science community a few years ago, even more so than the ever increasing hole in the southern polar ozone layer.
It is how we interpret these changes that is part of the problem. I like
this article where the writer states that this hysteria is drummed up from personal ambitions in the manner of using an "availability cascade" to draw attention to a cause for your own gain.
