Someone has been giving me the eye hardcore for a couple of weeks in one of my lectures and I really, really want to meet her. The problem is that she sits on the opposite side of this huge lecture hall and I can never seem to run into her before or after lecture. Should I try switching sides, or is that a bad idea? The problem is that it isn't surreptitious at all, since it's on the complete opposite side. I tried it before and it didn't work, but I wonder if I should try it again.

Try to talk to her during breaks. Look her up. Switch sides, yes, if it becomes easier to bump into her. But talk to her. You won't regret it.

maybe you can go sit in the middle... ease your way to teh other side. it would be funny though if you switched and she switched and then you'd be on opposite sides.

Get there early, sit next to where she usually sits, and when she comes in, if she looks at you, smile, and tell her how the guy who usually sits next to you smells really bad.  It'll explain you moving, get the conversation started, and hopefully make her laugh.

Hmm. That would be a good idea, except that nobody sits on either side of me. But I'm glad I asked because I had figured that doing this is just one of those weird aspie things that confuses people and drives them away or whatever. Maybe I"ll try it. Only have two weeks left anyway.

Yeah, you've gotta do it soon, because then you'll miss your chance and it may not come up again.  Considering the size of your classes.   Don't put too much pressure on yourself.  Think of it as practice.  If you fail miserably, it doesn't matter because you took the effort and gave it a shot.  It'll be easier next time.  Also, if it works well, even better.  Just remember, nothing wagered, nothing gained.  It's worth it.

That's really true.. Pyraxis said something similar before and it changed the way I view situations like that a little bit. Although I think in this case, as long as it's not overtly weird (I mean, what the hell else am I expected to do?) I'll probably try again.
