i said both are as much disabilities, AS and NT. i see the flaws in both and i see the good sides in both. just like genius and madness are two sides of the same coin, autism has its good sides and bad sides. you take away autism you lose the genius as well. that doesn't mean you can't alleviate the bad sides, i'm just worried how you propose to do that without "curing" autism or catering to the dysfunctions of the world by making compromises. i think autism is extremely valuable and needed on this planet. warts and all it's better in existenze than not.

im only interested at minimizing negative impacts that impede learning.... and in realtime... most likely not in my lifetime... as im just the mad scientist playing in the lab to figure out how stuff works

What sort of treatments are you thinking of?

I'm always trying to find things that'll help me to function better.  I got put on a low dose of dextroamphetamine a little while ago, and it's helping me to stay awake.  Without it, I tend to pretty much pass out half-way through the day.  It's the first thing I've tried that's helped me rather than screwed me up, though the benefits at this dose are pretty limited.

a type of gene therapy... to artificially produce the proteins that dyfunctional genes would have been producing.  i am working on networks involved with sensory network and certain associative learning networks... that are maturing at a time in young children... right around when children start having behavioral issues with sensory and start falling behind in certain learning capacities.... these are some of the issues associated with autism.  if you supply these synapses with appropriate proteins during this small timewindow... i hope that maybe these sensory and associative learning pathways can be strengthened.

it's by no means a one-shot cure to autism... it's not even known what causes autism globally... but i think it's worth looking into
