Ate this pasta/mushrooms dish this evening. With shiitake, pied de mouton, 2 types of champignons, shallot, bacon, etc..

My husband and I had breakfast burritos and our daughter had a plain cheese quesadilla for breakfast.

My prime rib roast is in the oven and should be ready in two or three hours.  I hope it turns out OK, since I rubbed it all over with fresh garlic, rosemary and thyme in softened butter.  Right now while it's cooking, the garlic smell is very strong.

The traditional fare...roasted turkey breast, candied sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes, gravy, stuffing, brussel sprouts, cranberry sauce, & pumpkin pie.

Kiddo did the cranberry sauce.


Just got it all put away & the dishes done. :coffee:

It is now 2am,  but earlier i had the christmas dinner at my mom's.   Had to drag the boy away from his scalextric and nintendo and he did not eat a thing!


I have just done an irish coffee and some biscuits.

Feel a bit of a pigggy now >:D

It turned out great!  We had it with a baked potato and a baked sweet potato, fresh steamed broccoli with cheese sauce, carrots, spinach and cheese ravioli with herbs and parmesan cheese, and dinner rolls.  The ravioli was mostly for our daughter since she doesn't like prime rib and didn't want to even taste it.

I have tons of leftovers except for the ravioli, since my daughter ate most of the leftover ravioli just before she went to bed.

Ravioli :thumbup:

This is for yesterday which was more interesting than today's cereal:
I went to my sister's place for Christmas lunch and I always get confused about what to eat on occasions like this because it isn't what I normally have. But I stuck to: potato salad and pasta salad, some turkey with mum's homemade stuffing. I didn't have dessert as I was full. I did end up taking some leftovers home. :)

This evening I dined at my sister's house and we 'stone-grilled'. That's preparing small pieces of meat and/or fish on a hot 'tile' of marble. There's no oil or butter required doing it this way. Ate some pieces of beef, lots of garlic gambas/prawns, some chicken and a couple of pieces of salmon. Some salad and slices of baguette with garlic/herbs butter. Was nice.
