Had a really good turkey club sandwich at JFK. For some reason they served chips as well, so I'm on my way to becoming fatty fat. :zoinks:

Now that you're here, crisps are chips and chips are fries. :P

It's normal to serve chips or fries with a sandwich.

Wait- you euro guys don't serve chips or fries with your sandwiches?

That's an ABOMINATION!  :GA:

It is also traditional here to pay a little extra for a cookie or a brownie.

What is a crisp anyways?

It's what the 'mericans call chips.

Chip sandwiches are done sometimes, likewise sandwiches with crisps in them. generally in sandwiches filled with some kind of processed meat product, like sausage and crisp sandwiches.

Or sometimes just on their own.

In the Depression you could buy a French Fry Po-boy.  French fries on french bread with roast beef gravy.  Usually 5 cents.

Sounds pretty tasty that does. French bread is lovely, you mean the kind that comes in sticks? those are great just covered in salted butter.

Going to go search out some nosh myself, not sure what there is but I think there are leftovers from my roast chicken last night.

Blueberries

Whole wheat flatbread dipped in olive oil (with salt and black pepper)

Kefir

(later I'm going to eat some bisibelibath, and possibly spaghetti)
Can't you guys even just imagine it?

Forget practicality, or your experience....can you just....imagine?

It's there. It always was.

Yes.  I particularly like to dunk them in coffee if I'm having it as a snack.

Botswanan beef.

I hope I don't get malaria or anything.

I was a random occurence, I had 25 krones left, went to the store for ground meat, usually ground beef is 30+ krones approaching 40, but ground pork is 16-17 krones.
They were out of ALL pork. Fucking hillbilly backwater shit good for nothing moldy crap every other item out of date turd cashiers fucking around never there gotta wait for half an hour to even pay for the moldy shit you bought store

anyway, in the corner of the freezer I found tiny deep-frozen packs of ground beef at 20 krones, "import", and in tiny print "made in Botswana"

and to my surprise, it DID taste vaguely different from my usual Norwegian ground beef.

I am curious now, if I have actually eaten African buffalo-based cattle. These are, in theory, I've yet to confirm, a different species from the "typical western" cattle, which are based on the European "aurochs" of the stone age, whereas African cattle are of a different origin completely, being water-buffalo. Afaik anyway
I should research this

Research result! Water buffallo are indeed domesticated - but our normal Bos taurus is, despite other existing domesticated species of cattle, spread around the entire planet, and the dominating type of cattle livestock, and was probably what I ate. The difference in taste reflecting the different landscape, fodder, etc, that affected its life.

Its happy care-free life D:

I'm just munching on a huge big bowl of steaming hot salted, buttery porridge for a post-midnight snack/second/third-ish supper of the night.

I'm not 100% sure which is the responsible med, but between the clonidine and tizanidine blocking noradrenaline release, my being scripted the sedative/hypnotic chlormethiazole, the antimuscarinic sedating antihistamine cyclizine; or the copious quantities of intravenous morphine sulfate, one or more of those is giving me a serious case of the munchies. The above meds, if I smoke weed/vaporise the synthetic 'noid STS-135, aside from getting me baked as baked can be, leaves me with the uber-craving for plate after plate of chow.

Just had a two-mug and about 3/7th or so of a 2 liter jug of milk sized bowl of porridge, along with the entire remaining amount of butter in its tub. Although there wasn't enough butter left to completely fill the bowl, esp. after I'd stirred in a nice big salty slice to the cooking pan of oatmeal, both to flavour it and to a lesser extent , since its my old man rather than me thats getting the lovely task of cleaning up the pan and scraping off the bottom bit of burnt on porridge remains, the butter lubricates the pan a bit.

Twatting hell though do I ever have the munchies right now. I'm mostly through eating that whopping big bowl of porridge and its like it just evaporated before hitting my stomach, and I am STILL hungry!

A filling bowl of oatmeal flavoured with peanut butter.  Quite satisfying.

Just ate a pack of giant chewy cookies, honeycomb and white chocolate chunk variety, had a bottle of lager and am munching down several (got 5-6) packs of chewy beef jerky, and some black olives.

Might have that huge uber cheeseburger from earlier in a bit, depends how I feel. And maybe throw some saffron milk-caps on the grill to roast too if I CBF, depends on how my last shot of morphine sits on my stomach, I threw up earlier today, as I've managed to, using diphenidine, the NMDA antagonist, dramatically crack down on my tolerance level which is good, but it does have the downside that smaller IVs will make me spew than would do so beforehand. Puked once at home, then yarfed up again in the carpark of the forest I went to to hike and pick wild mushrooms, thought I would again after doing my last shot of the day, but no, took some antinauseant meds which soothed my insides and convinced them to STAY inside, lol :P

I do have the munchies something fierce though, opiates often do that to me, but especially morphine, heroin, dipropionylmorphine, methadone and my homemade acylated opium injectable derivative, after taking any of them, but those in particular, I often find myself with an insatiable craving for nosh. Right now I am REALLY ravening hungry. The rest of my packets of beef jerky are about to get opened and scranned out unto the last miniscule little shred of tasty, chewy delicious dried beef, every last single packet, then I'll probably decide I want my uber-sized cheeseburger, and if I am still peckish after that, I'll throw on the slippery jack bolete I found in the woods before, and some pine mushrooms/saffron milk-cap (Lactarius deliciosus, a mushroom which most certainly lives up to both its name and its reputation for being a truly delectable morsel of wild fungi goodness), might just decide to get some out of the fridge and toss them under the grill to roast.
Beyond the pale. Way, way beyond the pale.
