This evening I baked bagels.  The ones on the bottom are garlic.  Apparently people only eat sweet bagels around here so if I want a garlic or a onion bagel, I have to make them myself.  It was only 70 degrees in the house so they didn't proof very well.

I came to this world with nothing
and I leave with nothing but love,
everything else is just borrowed.

Fuck it, we'll do it live.

I want monkey bread, now.

My wife makes it in the bread machine to start, by using a simple pastry dough recipe. When the dough is ready she takes it out and pulls it into small lumps, no rolling into a biscuit sized balls like some recipes call for. She leaves the lumps free-form and dumps several at a a time into a large bowl with a sugar and cinnamon mixture, to coat them. Then, lightly presses them into a bundt cake pan and cooks them like any other bundt cake. Glaze them while they are still hot and the glaze seeps into the "cracks" and cinnamon trails. It is truly a work of culinary art.

She has also been known to take a shortcut, using the canned Pillsbury cinnamon rolls, pulling them apart and reforming them into a bundt pan, to bake. Some people make monkey bread more like biscuits, though. There is no wrong way. Add nuts and rasins, if you want.

We have a constant supply of fresh Texas pecans to play with, most of the time, which usually find their way into sweets in this house.

Those bagels look very good, Tesla.

Mine didn't get that brown.  I'll have to try again.

Thanks for telling me how to make Monkey Bread, DirtDawg.  I have a bread machine too, so I definitely will have to try making it that way.

 :plus:

To both of you for making me

I have to urinate now.

Lay down first and try to hit your mouth. Don't spill any.

I didn't sleep last night. I went to work at six AM and I had time to make some tacos for breakfast.

Typical stuff mostly. SDried tomatoes from my garden a feww weekds ago, peppers (from the garden) frem the freezer, venison a friend gave me, potatoes, eggs, chedddar cheese and the most incredible tortillas from a little store down the stereet, made on the spot.

Of course, I bought the tortillas several days ago, but they keep for about two weeks in the freidge.

I'm hungry now, though, but I am not yet inspired. I hate being hungry and not really wanting to eat anything.
