I really prefer my card to cash, sounds a great thing. I love being able to buy a 14p bottle of lemonade from asda on my card.

I like cash as a matter of privacy not so much with a soda but where this is headed cash will become obsolete meaning everything is traceable and taxable  just bothers me

They might have time to add up all those transactions and compare them to what I make and decide I make more than I say I do.  I have to start charging customers in precious metals

The  problem arises when some asshole exploits bugs in the soda machine's software, cracks the system and accesses the credit card information of everybody who's used any given machine that gets owned. --I'll spend cash, thank you very much.

It would be cool if they had those at UW, or at least vending machines that accepted them.  No more withdrawing rolls of quarters.

I haven't seen a CREDIT card one (though that would be convenient for me), but my school now allows us to swipe our ID card to use our flex dollars (part of the meal plan) to pay for snacks or soda from the vending machines. I used to love this, but I unfortunately don't have a meal plan this semester.  :'(

I tend to go through cash very quickly when I carry it around, and it's a pain in the ass to get more. I would either have to use the ATM on campus (which isn't my bank, so my bank charges a fee for that and the ATM charges $2), or since I don't have a car, walk a mile to my bank or take the bus. So yeah, it's more convenient for me to use my debit card than use cash.

Ah, in the Uk, the bank has to pay if any fraud happens. Its a bit of hassle, but not a massive problem.

Looked again at it today as I got a Coke  looks to me like it would be easy to stick a card reader on a machine without one with double stick tape get everyones numbers then have it say out of service just to scam them I would be suspicious of them till they were integrated into the machine itself
