I wanna be a priest.
Who else was raised Roman Catholic and find it all utterly insane? I now I'm not the only one at least I hope Also what was the last straw that made you this way. Even as a child I thought the whole thing was nuts but knew enough to play along to stay of trouble.
I was raised Catholic too; my mother was a catechist for many years, and my first catechism classes were at my house. I have a picture somewhere of a bunch of us first-graders standing around together holding palm branches.

Two of the things I remember learning in Catholic school (1950's - 60's) wasA) When you attend another parish church (e.g. on vacation) you don't put any money in the collection plate. You only give to your parish church. B) When you attend another faith's service you sit there, respectfully, and do not participate in the service. That is what I do when I have to attend mass.

I remember my family went to an Episcopal wedding, and my mother cautioned us not to take Communion there.
