Two of the things I remember learning in Catholic school (1950's - 60's) was

A) When you attend another parish church (e.g. on vacation) you don't put any money in the collection plate.  You only give to your parish church.

B) When you attend another faith's service you sit there, respectfully, and do not participate in the service.  That is what I do when I have to attend mass.

I remember my family went to an Episcopal wedding, and my mother cautioned us not to take Communion there.  :orly:
What type of Catholic turns down free booze?

We turned it down for sound theological reasons.

Ex-Catholic, fortunately my family is not very religious, so I never got involved with church stuff very long.  My Grandmother was another story.   :borg:  But, she lived far away and we only went to church when we visited to appease her.

My family was different!  My mother made me go to Mass every Sunday and every holy day of obligation till I moved out at 22!
