Nope. You can catch lice simply by sitting in a theater, church, bus, barber seat next to someone who has them or sat in the seat before you, hanging your coat or swim next to the coat or swim towel of someone who has them, etc. It's awful the first time, but by the 3rd or so time I learned you didn't have to vacuum the whole house, wash all the floors, etc. I merely treat, comb, change bed linens and that was it. Works every time. Maximum time is about 2 hours because of the combing.
At least the animals are safe and don't have to be treated because human lice don't live on cats and dogs.
Playing together in sandpits seems to be the way to catch lice.
They were wondering at school here why lice would be most prolific in summer, when there are no infected coats hanging side to side and such. Turns out sandpits are a problem.
Great place to catch worms too.
Banning sandpits would be horrible though. So prioderm and anti-worm pills.
Oh, cuddly toys don't need to be washed, if they can't deal with washing on a 60
oC program. They can be stored in the freezer for 24 hours, or, kept away in a plastic bag, or just high up a shelf, for a week will work too.
Apparently lice don't like hair that has been dyed. So, this is the time for your brothers to convince mum to get a cool multicoloured hairdo.
