What is with the custom of drinking in the evening, that is stupid.  I mean I can understand if you got work or something, but I think if you're looking to get plastered the best idea would be to get a good nights sleep and start drinking immediately in the morning.  You'll have more energy to get more plastered, you'll be able to walk to stores and stuff, and when you pass out more time will pass until the next time you need to get up and be coherent and so on, allowing your handover more breathing room.
