My father-in-law is dying. They let him go home from the hospital, not because he was better but because there wasn't much they could do and he desperately wanted to get home.

Now that he's back home he's given up. He's too weak to drink without help, even, so he's probably going any day now. :(

I'm so sorry.

It's very hard to see someone you care about dying.

At least he will get to die where he wants to.

Problem is, it could take some time. I hate to see him like this--there's no way he's going to recover but his body doesn't seem to be ready to quit, either. FFS, I don't know where the energy comes from; he's in too much pain to eat, he looks like one of those starving kids from Angola, with drawn, almost transparent, skin, and there's just nothing there to sustain the processes.

If there is a God he's a very cruel being.

God let my grandfather die with a football size tumour in his stomach. And he was too good for this world. He corrected me when I killed an ant as a child. God's a very nice guy - not.  :grrr:

That's too bad, my Grandmother died last June and she was in bad shape before she died.

I am worried about my brother.   His work in Miami is letting people go and it seems he might be next on the chopping block.   If he is, then he moves back to Jville to live with my parents.   He is trying to quit drinking right now as well.    I can't do anything to help him and it sucks.

Thinking about how to tell my daughter that her grandfather died. An hour ago, she tip-toed downstairs, said she couldn't sleep. Asked if Mum was still here, if her Grandfather had died. I said she was still here, sleeping. And no, I didn't think he'd die tonight, answering her question. I knew that it was a white lie at best. Good chance he'll not survive the hour, actually.

For fuck's sake, I only said it because I knew she'd not sleep if I said something else. This is so fucked up.

Better to hear it when your more settled no use in everyone  being up all night good for her to sleep.

Wish I had useful advice. Direct and calm is the best I can think of. Seeing trustworthy adults disturbed was scarier than the actual events of the deaths, when my grandfathers died.
You'll never self-actualize the subconscious canopy of stardust with that attitude.
