I'm thinking about getting a blue tooth headset for my iPAQ, so that I can record the sounds of whatever's going on around me; particularly what people say to me. I've tried doing that with the iPAQ's built in mic, but the the recordings are unusable because of all the noise from the iPAQ rubbing against the inside of my pocket and because the sounds are muffled by my clothing, so I thought that a headset would solve that problem by mounting the mic in the open air where it wouldn't rub on things. I don't know whether I should get a headset with a noise-cancelling mic that's advertised as reducing background noise, or whether I should go for one that doesn't do that; I don't want recordings to be drowned out by lots of white noise from the wind blowing on the mic or from nearby traffic, but I do want it to pick up anything people around me are saying, and I'm not sure what effect a noise cancelling mic would have. Anyone have any ideas?
