they're for depression and ocd, mainly ocd, but either will do for now

In my experience, meds that take 3 weeks to work end up not working and give me horrible side-effects.  I like things that either do or don't work within an hour or so of taking them; they've generally worked and haven't given me much in the way of side-effects.

i didn't even know meds could work within an hour.
apart from stuff for anxiety
i dont think there's anything that will help my depression and ocd within an hour
but i dunno

speed works in an hour. that's why i was good at taking it. same with benzos.

Meds that take a month to kick in are a fairly recent (and in my opinion, very crappy) invention; older meds like amphetamine, valium and morphine work more or less immediately.

You'd need to see a psychiatrist if you're not already, and they don't like handing out amphetamine, so you'd need to convince them.  Mine put me on atomoxetine first for ADHD, which is pretty much just an anti-depressant that didn't work for depression and which was rebranded for ADHD, and it was vile; it gave me a pile of side-effects, made me feel shit all the time and didn't do anything good.  Then I got her to put me on amphetamine; she hadn't wanted to put me on anything and had said that if atomoxetine didn't work, nothing would, which is complete bullshit, and she wanted to go for Ritalin once I'd argued her around a bit, but I got her to go for amphetamine.  Unfortunately, she put me on a stupidly low dose of 5mg a day, when the peer-reviewed studies use 40-60mg a day, but I'm up to 15mg a day now, and maybe I'll get it bumped up in the future.  She'd never used amphetamine with any patient before, and didn't know the first thing about it, which is pretty bizarre for a psychiatrist.

im only on 10mg a day of seroxat at the moment, i was a bit disappointed they said only 10mg at first, but i haven't really looked into it much. i'm not too optimistic about it all right now, but maybe with the psychotherapy, it will work eventually
