Congratulations Beyonce. You have done something that I never considered possible. I now hate the word Halo.
George:I'd say I'm sorry to disappoint you, but I'm not. I excel at not giving a shit. Experience has taught me that interest begets expectation, and expectation beget disappointment, so the key to avoiding disappointment is to avoid interest. A equals B equals C Equals A, or whatever. I also don't have a lot of interest in being a good person or a bad person. From what I can tell, either way, you're screwed. Bad people are punished by society's laws, and good people are punished by Murphy's Law

I read an old magazine from 1989 yesterday, about operation Barbarossa. Not one mention of the jews in it. It's interesting looking at how these things were written about, but 1989 isn't that long ago really. Even in the section about the Commissar order I didn't see one reference to jews or anti-semitism. They did mention ideology, race, untermenschen etc, but it all seemed to be in relation to slavs/bolscheviks.

Maybe because it's not always about them? Some shit from Hollywood and New York drives me nuts with Yidcentric worldview. That's why I don't watch anything to do with Woody Allen and his New York Jew Angst or Neil Simons "everybody acts on Broadway, is queer and uses drugs" crap or the Golan Globus movies of the 1980s that have Robert Vaughn intoning to Chuck Norris that "Israel is Americas best friend in the Middle East". Yeah, Right! After the USS Liberty, John Pollard and failure to provide noitification ( read By Way of Deception by Ostrovsky ) about the Marine Barracks Bombing I don't buy it.

You know, I keep hearing about the Int'l Jewish Conspiracy and all i can think in response is what Harlan Ellison once said: "OK, let's just suppose--for sake of argument--that there is an International Jewish Conspiracy that runs the world and Hollywood, etc. etc. My question is: Where's MY cut?"

Except it was
Yes, not 100% about them, but partly. If they were solely mentioning the military stuff, I could maybe understand it, although even then it was connected. But to talk about racial ideology and untermenschen, and have a section on the commissar order without making one reference to the jews?

I don't know what happened to your cut Punkdrew. I do know that Woody Allen and Niel Simon do irritate me for the reasons stated and that Menahem Golan made movies chock full of Israel is righteous propaganda. Furthermore the Liberty incident happened, the crap with Pollard happened as did the failure to notify the US of the Marine Barracks bombing. And it was radical jews in the Irgun and Lehi who introduced Terrorism to the Palestinean Mandate as a political tool to get the state they wanted and wiped out Deir Yassin and other villages to prevent a two state solution in 1948 and the Sabra/Shatila massacres were a logical extension of that. Arabs have been assholes and continue to be so but it is not a one way street.
So if you think my awareness of this history and disapproval of the US Congress being bought by Israel makes me a bad guy who wants to hand out bread and marmalade then please make your case. I do want Israel/USAs "special relationship" tossed aside since Israel gets all the benefit and the US just keeps footing their bills.

Shouldn't that be "not all about them" then?
Not always about them implies it's not about them at all. Which it is.

Read what Goebbels and Himmler had to say about Gypsies, Basques and Slavs and then tell me that every part of National Socialism racial ideology involves the Jews to the exclusion of being about other people. Not always about them means not always about them.

I have read plenty of what they had to say about other groups. Barbarossa and the einzatsgruppen etc were more about anti-semitism than any of the other groups though.

I never once said it was solely about anti-semitism. Anyone who's seriously looked into Nazi ideology or Hitler's weltaunschauung can't claim that anti-semitism wasn't a huge factor though. To write about Barbarossa and the Commissar order without even mentioning the Jews isn't the same as simply stating that it wasn't JUST about them. Of course it wasn't, but they were a massive part of it
