Ever noticed how if you spend enough time with people your vocabulary/catchphrases start to blend?  I seem to be worse than most about this; I pick odd expressions up like a magnet.

In my first flat I learnt how to pick the lock on the bathroom door. I kept the window open in there and the door would swing shut.

I got a meat skewer and poked it in the little hole on the door handle and it worked! Proud of myself that day.

Can't you just put a blunt ended butter knife in the slot and turn it?
