"The only tulips to survive of many thousands that I lost last year, happened to be some "fragile hybrid variety." These ruffled petal tulips are nodding from the weight of rain water.

... then a plant I heard a group of teens calling a marijuana vine (Parthenocissus quinquefolia). I expect it to be vandalised or stolen, but they will only smoke it once.
That vine turns blood red in the fall. People ask what kind of tree is that. "It's a peach tree," but I sometimes don't bother telling them that it has a vine climbing up it which is really showy."
"Just under my bedroom window is a mixture of things ... Hedera helix (ivy ground cover), Polystichum (fern), Dicentra (bleeding hearts) Arisaema triphyllum (Jack in the pulpit) Variegated Dogwood, etc.
Then a little further down the wall, Convallaria majalis ... Lillies of the Valley ... fucking heavenly fragrance. There are actually a few more Arisaemae, a variegated Hosta, an Athyrium nipponica "Pictum" (Japanese painted fern) being over run by the Convallaria and some Lysimachia in that conglomeration also."

Then a Clematis I am very proud of, because I grew it from seed. I have three others, but one was purchased and the other two were "pinched" (NO! Not stolen, but a shoot was taken with permission of the owner and I grew them from cuttings)
Third frame is Asarum or European ginger. It hides its flowers, which resemble "little brown jugs" beneath the leaves.
Lots of other things in that pic as well, like Dicentra cucullaria (Dutchman's britches), Ajuga, Lysimachia, more Hostas (believe it or not the white leaves are those of a Hosta, grown from seed) and Convallaria majalis."
