I like it, too. I grew it out when I was nineteen and did not shave until I was thirty three. When I was thirty four I let it grow again. It's been here ever since. Of course, I shave about every other day around the edges to keep it neat and every day when I worked, but that's pretty easy compared to scraping my whole face.

My husband grew his beard when he was in grad school.  He has not shaved it since.  He has black hair and a black beard, so when he shaved, he needed to shave twice a day and still he would not look clean-shaven for long because it grew so quickly.  It grew pretty long when he was a student, but now he trims it short like yours most of the time.
