I heard rumors that you were the co-founder of
WP. Any truth to these?
No, its a bit off base - Dan Grover was the lad who co-founded WP with Planky. He quickly backed off from taking any active role in the site and left Alex to it - Alex worked with Amy (AFF) for a couple of months until she left to start AFF - I joined the site at this time. I was modded in December '04 during a bitter row with a couple of AFF aligned members, and became co-admin with Alex in the New Year, running the boards while he focused on his school work and 'making the site cooler/bigger/more popular than AFF/etc'. PI also joined as a (very active) mod and worked her AAARRSE!! off (including getting the chat room out of stagnation, running regular chat nights etc) until quitting so she didn't have to deal with Alex's bullshit. I was burnt out and pissed off dealing with Alex by June/July and stepped down, leaving completely for a while before returning briefly as a mod in the autumn to help friends out (Mockingbird and Vetivert). I quit in disgust at Alex's opportunistic handling of the Will Freund fiasco, and stopped posting, instead making The Drivel and hanging out there, and later at The Neurolands and OTS.
For publicly telling Alex a few home truths. the boy king isn't fond of criticism.
What were they?
I returned to pass comment on his actions in reading Vetivert's PMs and harassing/banning Mockingbird/Ghotistix and other members who were posting on the newly launched OTS in Feb/March last year. I had already privately slagged him for his behaviour towards his staff and advised him to get some help sorting his people skills out before resigning as mod, but did it publicly and angrily. So my banning was not exactly a shock, just part of the wave of bannings at that time. The little fucker also accused me of hacking the site, which I had no part in.
