An instant lead test kit with eight swabs for thirty five dollars.  I have already tried it out and I indeed have lead paint on the trim in my house under about six layers of other paint

^^after googling i still don't really know what a lead test kit is exactly, i'm smart like that.

I spent my HMV vouchers from xmas today and purchase 2 CDs, 1 book and 1 DVD.  God save piracy, it makes legitimate purchases so damn affordable!

It is for testing to see if there is lead paint on a surface.  The swabs are tubes with two glass capsules that you break and squeeze the liquid onto the swab at the end.  If lead is present it turns red

They used lead in paint in the US until some time in the seventies, I think.  If the lead paint breaks down or peels off and a kid eats it, it can cause lead poisoning, which can be fatal and can also cause lots of other problems if the kid survives.

I think that it can also be inhaled as lead paint dust and can cause serious health problems for adults as well.

Bought a new mobile phone. Well, sort of.

One of the ones that does everything but hold you tight when your sad :zoinks:

I bought a ratcheting screw driver with interchangeable bits on clearance for $2 and a piece of weatherstripping to fix what the  pain in the ass cat wrecked sharpening it's claws on

Yup, one of those. It refuses to massage my feet, though.

ponders on mobile phones.

Girl wants one for her BD, because of all the things a nice phone can do, besides being a phone.  :santa:

Resistance is futile. They use it for so much more than we do. It's a way of life for them.

Well, at least she is not interested in using it as a phone.

Free tow to auto detailing = free (priceless)
Enging cleaning = $50
Tow to auto repair shop = $71
Gas in car along the way to auto repair shop (nice towtruck guy let me put gas in the nearly empty car) = $16
Replace starter = $450 +/-
Find what else is wrong with car = To Be Determined

Ham, cabbage and Dijon mustard from friend who picked me up and had them left over from a weekend trip = priceless.
