That's great. Is it your first car? First cars are the best cars.

I've had a couple of second hand cars that people have given me before, but this is the first time I've had a brand new one. I've been driving around trying to get the hang of driving again, but I'm just hopeless at it. My cousin doesn't have a license, but he's much better than me, and he's been taking me out trying to teach me to drive again :-[

I've been putting off buying a car because I hate driving them, but I couldn't put it off any longer because it's coming into winter here, and I'm the only person in the house that has a license. I much prefer driving scooters, but they're not pleasant to drive in the cold and rain. But, at least when I crash and kill myself I'll be warm and dry

You can rise to the challenge.  Just stay cool, calm and collected.  Remember to keep your eyes open when driving.

A hot-melt glue gun, outdoor wood varnish, a couple of types of silicone sealant, a mitre saw, a router, live daphnia and tubifex, brine shrimp eggs, 100 metres of airline tubing, 3 pond liners and various other things.

:zombiefuck: Sounds like you're going to create all kinds of destruction with that!

It's funny. I'm a good driver on my scooter. I just can;t judge distances in cars. They're just so big and awkward. I'm OK at driving forward. I just hate manouvering them.

Stopped at a garage sale and bought 3 pairs of blunt scissors (useful for trimming bangs and keeping in the purse when needed outside the house) and a set of risers for beds.  We don't need them in the house, but they could be useful for the odd job or craft.

Yes, sounds suspicious.

I just can;t judge distances in cars.
Also have trouble with distance, mostly when turning left in front of oncoming traffic. It's hard to tell how much space is enough space. Also have to have a smaller car. Can't see the front corners of big ones and bump things.

I can't judge if I can fit through gaps and end up with the cars behind me peeping their horns, and then I get stressed out.

That's nothing that can't be fixed by more experience. Offer to drive your friends around in exchance for gas money. You'll be ready to drive in the World Rally Championship in no time!!  ;) :hotrodder:

^agreed.
I can't judge distance as I have no depth perception. But I still drive, it just takes practice. You will get better at it. :)

I had an aunt who lost the sight in one eye when she was about 7 years old.  When she was in her 60's she decided to learn to drive and did well.  She was a cautious driver because of the vision deficit, and she never had an accident.  And no, she wasn't your caricacture Little Old Lady driver.

My mother lost the sight in one of her eyes over the past few years. Took her some adapting, but, she is driving. And, at an age where you need tests to get your drivers licence renewed, she was considered to see good enough.
