I've decided to trash this install of WinXP. (about three months old, I think)

I came home with a 500GB (EIDE) internal for seventy bucks and a I'll probably install it tomorrow and load it up. I'm keeping the 320GB I've been using for an additional backup. I'll rob the relevant files off the old drive at my leisure.

Fuck this.

It's outside time.

This plan is on hold.

Fuck, I do that shit all the time for friends and family, Plus I've been trying out different flavours of Windows on my youngest sons computer.

I've done a few of those, too. Thankfully, others have now taken the reins to the family carriage.

What other  "flavors"  have you tried?

I've tried every version of Windows there ever was, with the exception of Vista. I've seen Vista, and I've toyed with a friend's pooter running Vista, but I haven't had it installed myself.

And guess what: they're all shite.

i bought some yarn today - wool, and some gorgeous silk, in mouthwatering colours - cos i had to get some for one of my undergrads, who's commissioned me to make her a bag and matching hat.  can't afford it, but spending money when i really haven't got any seems to attract more to me, for some weird reason.   :-\

Played around with XP64, XP+SP3 intergrated from MSDN, XP+SP2 with an XP to MCE Converter (non official of course, lets you have a VLK versin of MCE, so doesnt need cracking), Vista32 with SP1 intergrated from MSDN as well as the 64bit verson, and Win2000 with unofficial SP5.

Vista 64 with SP1 seems to run well out of the 64 bit offerings from MS (cracked with VistaLoader 2.2.0), and XP with SP3 intergrated from MSDN with AutoPatcher shows promise (VLK)

ooooh, is that a recent one?  i have loads by them, including some rather ill-judged stuff from the 80s.  but who cares - the combination of their voices is worth suffering quite a lot of awful, dated arrangements for.

Actually, I believe it's from the late 80's to early 90's.  I consider it one of their timeless and  best works.  I bought it to replace the vinyl album version that was getting scratched.  If you like them, I strongly suggest Crosby and Nash's collaboration "Sanctuary" and the song "Lay me down".  It's beautiful!   8)
