I have recently bought a serious LP record album collection. I had talked for over three months to this woman. This collection belonged to her husband, who died about twelve years ago. She has just begun to unglue him from her living condition. I almost had to show credentials to even put in a bid, but it was ALL worth it ALL. An amazing collection!!
Over four thousand mint condition jazz albums from the fifties and sixties and seventies. He had a few modern things like Chick Corea from the nineties, but with what he was producing at that time, most Miles Davis fans had already given up on old Chick.
But seriously, it was before Halloween when I started trying to buy this collection. It has finally just worked out. I am pleased.
I know that most here are not into vinyl albums, but for the few who understand what that means, I fucking found a gold mine. I own a small crossover SUV htat I can lay down in if the seats are folded down and it took three trips.
Then after getting my last trip loaded into the car, She asked if I could "just come back and take" all these od tools that nobody knows anything about. Now, that flipped me out after so much "to do" just buying the old guys records.
She also had amazing classic electronics, but would not break the system up. She wanted fiften thousand bucks for the hardgear in its entirety. I really only wanted a couple of pieces. I had just dropped nearly a grand on almost four thousand albums. Read that as: about a quarter a piece.
