I bought a pick up truck. It is a junker, from the eighties and I gave three hundred bucks for it.
The inside is a "crime scene" with no survivors and the paint is almost gone, but it still runs very well on its third engine and rust is minimal. The tires suck and it seems to leak everything that it can, but it goes. One of the neighbors had it most of its life, but bought a newer truck about four years ago and just kept this one around to "fix up."
His plans for it changed when his wife became pregnant, again. She is kind of biggish about now.
I gave him what he asked for it with no squabble, but I also had a carton of diapers and a case of baby wipes sent to his door. I hand delivered a thirty pack of his favorite beer for him and two sets of large sweat clothes for his wife.
That part was being neighborly, but I could have easily just taken his truck and he was happy to see it go and get some money for it. I have the means and I wanted to give back a little. I am so overly blessed these days!!
Anyway, my "new pickup truck" lives in my storage building across town with its BIG sister, my Chevelle.
But, grungy garden and maintenance tasks are now more manageable, thanks to his generosity.
