I need to invest in a good set of kitchen knives. When I was away at the cottage I rented, their knives were amazing and it made such a difference. Especially since I cook so much from scratch. Always needing to slice, chop something.

Today I bought lunch for myself and the oldest and it was a disappointment. Ate less than half. Didn't taste good.

Thought about this a bit more. It is not that long ago that everyone could be a bit creative, because of all the home made stuff. Food, clothes, furniture, gardening, even singing together and telling stories. Over time that all went away. Even cooking meals from unprocessed things is happening less and less. The need to embellish did not go. Part of humanity, and found in a lot of humans. Colouring may fill a need.

Fantastic lucky bargain. The thrift store had a rack of merino wool and silk Neck men's sweaters.  Most were marked $22.95 on purple tags.  There were about 5 or so that were marked marked $14.95 with a green tag.  The green tags were 75% off.  So PA's Christmas present cost me less than $4.00.  Manufacturer's tag was priced at $78.

Bought Ozzy Osbourne's hardback  autobiography in pristine condition for $1 for my sister's Christmas present.
