I filled up my entire tank with 10 percent ethanol gas for 25 bucks  :yarly:

Unfair. You don't want to know what it costs around here to fill up a tank.

Well if you are in the UK I'm guessing it's 50 us bucks...elsewhere in the us of a no freaking clue

They're dropping here in Pa as well. I was actually a little below 1/4 of a tank last week and was surprised when the pump shut off before $40.

I just may start driving that little blood sucking vampire of mine a lot more.  8)

Strangely enough I just hit 42,000 on it and it's been getting about 17mpg instead of 12-13 now. I think it's finally starting to get broken in...after only 20 years.
1.  that few miles in 20 years???
2.  How long was it getting 12-13 MPG?  Any chance that's just because you're not using the a/c any more?

Only 32,000 on it when I bought it a few years back. The original owner (neighbor) has neuropathy in his legs, he basically used it to go to the post office and back and his wife used her car for work. It's basically rust free with the exception of some surface rust on the brush guard on the front...he spent extra for the optional undercoating and it's holding up well.

Might be right about the a/c contributing to it...although I didn't re-charge it this summer so I never used it...slow leak somewhere...it always needs re-charged every season. But I was getting around 13 last year even in the winter. Actually I started noticing a difference after the buggy ABS system was disabled some months back.

All car A/C systems leak out of the pump shaft seal because that seal depends on a small amount of lubricant to work. The lubricant is mixed in with the refrigerant so when you're not using the A/C, the seal isn't getting lube. If you turn on your A/C periodically through the year, it takes care of this problem.

That would probably be my problem then...I hardly used it. Thanks, I will remember that if I recharge it next summer.

Starting to pamper myself.  Some Shea Butter body cream and a meal at the diner.  Just me, the cook and the TV.

A loaf of bread, three kaiserbrötchen and, CBC can start drooling now, some croissants.

Time to fatten up my teenage girls, now that they are somewhat into eating again, with the worst of the flu behind them. Youngest looks like a skeleton with skin.

An old-lady grocery carrier.  To bring things from the car to the apartment.  It's only about 100 feet, but we need to start pampering ourselves.
