Not sure what the dilator type was called but that sounds right; just a matter of holding it in there and pushing a little for about 20 minutes a day.  I've upgraded to a dildo at this point (funny thing is:  my dad bought me a dildo for christmas) but it serves the same purpose; I think for it to be masturbation, technically, I have to get something more out of it than stretching.
