They didn't consider it food. Most people today don't consider insects food, although their nutrition value is very high.

Eventually I will have no choice. I will probably ask my doc about a new GI series and then, if it doesn't get better, no matter what the GI series reveals, ask for pH monitoring. The pH monitoring will indicate if and what sort of surgery will be necessary  :(

We say "wings" but birds have arms, which are structured the same way as human arms.

They have hands, and they still have the 3 fingers inherited from dinosaurs, although two of them are almost completely fused. Their thumb is still free, and is used to maneuver the "alula", a small "micro-wing" that they use for fine navigation.

Their legs are almost unchanged from the dinosaurs, except their fibula has shrunk, and partially fused to the fibula, and their metatarsals are - like their hands - fused together.

A columbarium was a Roman building containing tombs. It was looked upon as very honourable to finance such a building.
