Thats the greek alphabet.

Obviously my classics education is lacking.  :zoinks:   Was I close?

Education, schmeduction.  Your manners are perfectly Victorian and that is what is important.

Thank you, Your Majesty! :cbc: :tea:   I brought you some tea!

Lady Weeble, you run a mean kitchen, the tea is perfect as usual.  Thank you.

You're welcome, Your Majesty! :cbc: *wobbles off to clean the kitchen*

It's a city in Friesland (upnorth). Stavoren, in Dutch, and it has its city-rights since 1068.

Um, peanuts.. when you compare it with the ruin city they recently have found in Bulgaria. It's near a salt mine and it's been said the inhabitants were quite rich (salt was a precious commodity back then). 'Oldest' city of Europe they say it is.. and it dates back to the 5th millennium before the year zero.
