PA didn't believe in the lunar month calendar until we counted the lunar months.  He was born exactly 10 lunar months after his parents were married.

My parents were married early October, 1948, and I was born late August, 1949, almost 2 weeks overdue.  I weighed 5 lbs.    When Mom took me to some doctor when I was a child, he told her I was premature because of some feature I had.  I suspect that she lost a baby and became pregnant almost immediately.  But 60+ years later nothing can be proved one way or the other.

Since always.  40 weeks / 4 weeks per month = 10 (lunar) months. (One still isn't technically pregnant during those first two weeks)

The Polar bear has transparent hairs and a black skin underneath its 'white' fur.

And enough vitamin A in its liver to poison anybody eating it.

Ah, bugger.. I just fancied some polar bear's liver. You know.. with some fava beans and a nice chianti.

Nah.

Dunno.. what you say probably goes for the liver, of Polar bear/eating it, but doubt (a bit) it would harm someone that much when s/he would eat a part of the flesh of its, say, upper leg. (Um, properly prepared that is.. but also, of course, not promoting such a thing/we, mankind, already doomed the poor creature to go extinct, in the quite near future, as it is, I'm afraid)

I meant eating the liver.

Although trichinosis might be a risk eating undercooked polar bear.

Lol, I remember that myself. Changing the words to the nauseating, mindless fairytale garbage I was pushed to sing in school.

As if teaching kids about how good it was for some preacher man to be backstabbed, and subsequently subjected to a showtrial, made to carry the instrument of his own torture/execution to the place of execution, and thence nailed to a piece of wood and left to die is appropriate in the first place.

Maybe if they were to do it with our politicians yes, but not as a rule. Such things are, IMO, a little distasteful.

Sled dogs apparently also have toxic livers.  I read about it in an account of an ill-fated polar expedition
I will look it up later and post a link.  I can't do it right now, too busy.   :autism:

:plus:   Here is a link about another one, specifically mentioning dogs' livers as
probable sources of toxicity due to high levels of Vitamin A:
