I have a friend who got his Ph.D. in mathematics from Oxford University many years ago, at Magdalen College.

I went to Queen's College.
I was more into pure maths when i was at university, Group theory and topology were my favourites.
Nowadays i just do some probability and statistics, which i used to think were boring at uni., and just did the minimum amount required for the course.

Yes, it's a nice city. I lived down south for a while but moved back up here because the housing is a lot cheaper.
I prefer it down south. Better weather, not as many chavs around and London is cool.

i'm originally from london.  i miss some of it like fuck - decent transport, the royal opera house, all the little places that the tourists never see, the multicultural markets, etc. ...

Well you have made assumptions about me that are totally wrong.
As for university, it is blatantly obvious where you are, anyone who knew about unis could figure it out. All I can say is i wouldnt want to go to it, i chose not to, not the other way round.
