Part of the POINT to the site
is to be a place where one can
air their concerns. Hey, maybe you're
right, and these mods were capable
of being on for huge chunks of time,
without revealing their dark innards -
so they're some sort of treasures.

Cal, my sympathy meter is pretty short.  There comes a point where you can clearly see those who enjoy self flagellating and probably just thrive on their own dysfuntional relationship with themselves and others.

so do you think its cool for all the kiddos to be reading about her wanting to cut off her tits, her period pains, her ripping her hair out, her cutting herself? if im not mistaken kids can pretty much go into every forum on that site. even the adult one, at the very least she shouldnt be a moderator. if i had kids i wouldnt want them reading that crap. what if they tryed cutting themselves because they saw an adult doing it, because they were in pain? anyways i think its your right to stand up for her but i think she likes the attention. and if i remember correctly when she first started posting on wp she wasnt like that. oh well this argument is tired now so i'll stop

but..I agree with this. when people are in a position of authority, they have a moral obligation to NOT express wanting to cut their tits off. =/ wanted or not, members look to the moderators as examples, or even as inspiration. a mod going all apeshit is just....adding fuel to the fire that many people come there trying to extinguish.

I too think that she should not be a mod,
but only for her own sake. I don't think that
the kids there are particularly sucked into
thinking that they should self-harm. If it's
learned behavior, it comes long before this.

Nor are we particularly obvious as moderators,
nor is their a great deal of respect for us - something
which I do my damndest to maintain.

My opinion would be that mods should be strong role models, especially given the large percentage of young and vulnerable people on that site.

were selected for.
