sheer beauty - some of this is the closest to "god/the divine/the universe/whatever you call it" anyone will ever be able to get:

Neville Marriner is a favourite. He's conducted a fantastic version of Bach's St Matthew Passion.

if you're ever going to get a version of "the lark ascending", though, get that one - i've got several, and no-one comes anywhere near iona brown's violin playing.  absolutely transcendent.
