i am not making a judgement about people that don't work.  it is everybodies choicce, especially when they have the option of doing nothing and being taken care of by the state....being relegated to second class citizenship.  will you ever evolve (go forward) in life?

Personally, I don't feel that the low-end jobs that I was capable of getting
were helping me forward at all. Yeah, lazing on my ass wasn't either,
but it did give me the opportunity to begin working on some projects
that did. I doubt that I would have bothered; doubt that I'd be in
grad school - if I had stuck to one of these positions which you
seem to so strongly advocate.
i don't believe that there is any need for low end jobs.

after survival i believe in tribe mentality.

workers should unite (a union would be a novel concept) and demand jobs with livable wages and dignity.
Misunderstood.

BUT those low end jobs exist primarily to
provide work (and perhaps validation)
they aren't necessary at all.

yes they are.  but they need not be low end jobs.

calculate the amount of people by the amount of total jobs.

all jobs are necessary to keep people free.
Misunderstood.

I simply don't see where a Wal-Mart greeter, regardless of the
wages, is either necessary to the economy or to the person
holding the job.

then you obviously have not been paying attention to my line of reasoning
or you are dense.

or you are purposely trying to undermind it without reason.
Misunderstood.

I don't THINK any of those. But I may be just dense.
As far as I see it, you're pushing this whole anti-entitlement
thing again, and I just can't see where that kind of job
can possibly give someone great fulfillment. If new 'jobs'
were created, such as artist (without needing to sell their
product) or student, yeah sure. But that doesn't seem to
be what you're advocating.

I understand that. But I'm not getting where that leads
to individual fulfillment, if the individual is forced to do
meaningless work.

there are more disabled than you.

i believe in the basic human instinct of survival....sink or swim.  if you weren't getting the freebies then you would be forced to make a choice.  i think that you would survive, and possibly excel.
though you are being appeased by the state, where is your motivation?
you have none!

I hope so, though I can't say for sure that I will, for the moment. By, the way, all people in this country are "second class citizens" to the politician scum and those with power, regardless if they work or not. You have nothing to say as an "ordinary" citizen in this "democratic" country.

My father works more than any person I know, and he's not happy at all; he's just a workoholic and an aspie in denial.

you are living in your own head again.

isn't it possible that there are many people out there that might enjoy different kinds of work than you do?
Misunderstood.

They did in Sweden more than 100 years ago, but somewhere it all went wrong.

Sounds like my father, but at least he takes pleasure in working,
which makes him happier than I am.

isn't it possible that there are many people out there that might enjoy different kinds of work than you do?

So, we tailor the world to those able to handle
mundane tasks the best?

Quote
The largest Swedish union confederation is Landsorganisationen, or LO. The LO has almost two million members, which is more than a fifth of Sweden's population.

Trade union

But the coward mentality is still there. That union once made Sweden a modern democracy and got the labourers 8 hours work day, minimum wages, equal votes for all citizens etc. But it's all fucked up.

I'm trying. And no, I'm not trying to derail anything. I just don't see why making
someone who is unsuitable for menial tasks do them is at all reasonable. Maybe
there's some unstated grand plan here, where every person is assigned their
lot by the state, but I'm not going to guess at that unless you say it.
