So, I figure that most of us are multi-tasking
to some extent when on here. I tend to
have a couple of other forums open,
and maybe be doing some quizzes at
okCupid. Either that or playing dirty
flash games.

Sometimes, I also use the site as a
good break in my work. Do a little
bit of grading (or even coding, but
that doesn't tend to work well), and
then hop over and post a couple of
inane comments. Then, if I don't get
hooked into the evil of the web, I grade
a couple more assignments.

This is what I do when I'm on chat with other people and they're not responding fast enough. Or I'm cooking (the stove is only two steps away). I've tried forums as breaks between classwork or freelance stuff, but that just doesn't go well. I'm way too addicted.

But if there's just a couple of posts per hour,
it works out ok.

I keep getting up and doing things around the house.  From time to time I'll have other sites open to read.  Sometimes I'll 'talk' to people by pm.  Now a days its rare that I use IM.

I usually have my box going all day and I have a Fractal rendering program running, along with some music, at times. Right now I'm home alone and it's raining, so I'm blasting loud music from my big system (saving some resources) and shopping online, with several of my favorite fora opened also. When the kids are home, I usually refresh several pages, but often get distracted with their needs/wants and don't even read the pages I had opened.

I guess the most dysfunctional thing I do is, open a reply box and type like crazy at some bulllshit someone said, then go deal with the kids for two hours and when I come back the discussion has evolved past any applicability to my bitchy input, so I just ditch it.

Right now, I am supervising "magic tricks" while I am posting here.  You know those gelatin capsules with a foam animal inside where you melt away the gelatin with warm water and it reveals the animal?  My daughter has to draw and describe one thing she does at home each night for homework, so I agreed to let her do this if she drew a picture and wrote a little about it.

Next, I will be supervising a bath!
