I want to have a good night's sleep for once.

I forget, does melatonin work for you?  :orly:

Yeah. I'm not even tired at night but I'm practically dead in the morning.

Could you sleep better if you worked at night and slept in the day?  :orly:

I'd turn the day upside down again. My "day" is longer than a normal day. That's what it always seems like, anyway.

I wonder if you are like people I heard about on TV, whose natural sleep cycle is very different from that of the rest of their family. They get up at 3 in the morning or something like that, and go to bed very early. Maybe that is the problem with you, you are trying to sleep before you are able to, and then trying to get up when you need to sleep?  :nerd!:

Quite possibly, but I really believe that my day is longer than 24 hours.

But what he just said may actually apply to some of us, physically.

I only know about myself, so do not mistake my further comment for some kind of universal axiom ...

I DO know that my day, as far as my bio-functions go, is more like thirty six (maybe thirty two) hours in duration, than a simple twenty four hour event tied to the rotational influence of our planet.  This may relate to the reason it is so damn hard for some of us to sleep at night time. Night time does NOT ALWAYS fall within our physical presentation of the so called "down time"  which is the very first part of good sleep. I do a constant schedule at work, almost always at work at six AM.  Unfortunately, about every third morning, I get out of bed and head off to work without having had any sleep at all.

This is one of the many the tolls I pay for trying to be "normal"  and keeping a decent job in public.

I need a job where I just log in any time I feel like it and download money.

That sucks.  :thumbdn:  If I ran a business, I would create jobs with schedules and working conditions suited to individual needs, as much as possible.

Yeah well, they already think they do enough of that, since every single day an average of eight people call off from work at my main store alone.  Some of the bigger stores have an average of twelve or fifteen no-shows per day.  It is practically impossible to schedule work around peoples' whims, tummy aches or sniffles.

I could easily "call off" from work on the days that I missed sleep, but then I would not be a leader and I would not make as much money and I would probably have to find another job and ... there is no updraft to ride here. People are just stupid.
