There is a big, fat mosquito in my bedroom. I hate the way they buzz around!

I especially hate it when they buzz right in my ear! 

Yes, I get really paranoid about things getting into my ears or even going near them. Last night I slept with my ears covered because I heard a mosquito.

One good thing is that they seem not to bite me. I get maybe three mosquito bites per year! 

I got bitten twice this morning when I was watering the garden. Not near my ears, though, thankfully.

Some people seem to attract mosquitoes more than others. My father used to get bitten a lot!   

So did my sister when we were kids. She got bitten a lot more than I did.

I wonder if some people *smell* better than others, to mosquitoes I mean.

I think smell would be a main attractor (sp).

There aren't any mosquitoes here, but the midges can be a nightmare in the summer.

Yes they are, we get those too. I live near an estuary so we get clouds of midges sometimes.

The supermarket in my place is showing utter contempt to the people who have done their shopping there for years and years.

Last week I already missed some products, but yesterday there were lots of empty spaces. Only 5 jars of their own brand of jams, and therefore hardly any other brands left either. This supermarket still has two weeks to go. 
After that it will close, and it will take two more weeks before a new one will open.

I have no car, and this is the only supermarket in the village.

Guess I will go shopping in one of the towns by taking the bus. Hope I can take enough with me to not have to go there too often. I almost daily get what I need, straight after doing my rounds, part of my routine. Now I will have to plan shopping, and it will cost a lot more in transportation.

Now, I have got well functioning legs. I can do this. But, lots of elderly people can't. I think it is outrageous service.
