My aunt died yesterday and I will end up missing the funeral because my biological father will be there and I don't feel like being nice to that mf. I also do not want to subject that side of my family to bs of that nature.

Thanks ladies. My biologocal father is like your ex Hyke, he took a drive for cigarettes when I was 4 and showed up 10 years later thinking everything was good. Aunt Edith was cool though.

Oy. That happened to a friend of mine. His parents divorced and he went to another state to stay with his Dad (he was 7) and his Dad went out for a pack of smokes and never came back. Showed up in his life years later. Definitely leaves it's mark.

I hope you find a way to honour your Aunt that also gives you some closure.
