Do you have any tips for reducing the effect? I am not intending to actually get in a boat, really I am just trying to get some semblence of fitness and the rowing machine seems the most effective out of the lot we have.

Gloves. The thin, tight fit that golfers use. And a lighter grip.

I think my goldfish are getting eaten.  We got 30 for the pond in 3 lots of 10 over the past month, but I can only count 8 now, and I've only found one fish corpse.  The water is very clear too, so it's easy to count them.  We're going to get some floating plastic ring/net things to put around the margins to stop whatever it is from getting to the fish.

I heard a bunch of those last night at around 2am.  I live in a major camping/canoeing area and rowdy drunken behavior is a yearly problem.  And Memorial day weekend is the worst, second only to the July 4th holiday!   ::)  I take consolation in knowing that we are having a bigger than usual mosquito swarming season and that anyone camping is either too drunk to care or smothered in bug repellent.   :evillaugh:

Hopefully the dragonflies will be hatching soon!   :crossed:

Hot tea, chicken soup, sudafed (if you can take that med) and a shot of brandy (or other liquor of your preference) taken strategically.  Also Benadryl does have some cough suppresant effect and may help you sleep.
