I don't know the layout of your case, but try putting a deskfan so that it goes along the line of airflow (so pointing in and to the back), then play something graphically intensive.
Also, make sure there is a reasonable gap between the graphics card and any hard drives you might have - you want enough room for the air to circulate.if it IS a heat issue, then as Phlexor says; clean the fans, heatsinks and do some cable management.
